I can't believe the negative reviews!
I have owned this microwave since January 2006 and it is the best I have owned in over 30 years. Maybe I just got a good one. I do agree it has too many buttons on the control panel, but is very easy to use and has been consistant. This unit has been reliable, never burned anything and I would highly recommend it.

Don't Buy It--Panasonic Has Terrible Customer Service
I bought this microwave on Amazon in November of 2008. The manufacture date inside the door read September of 2008, so when the microwave completely stopped working (not even a power readout) in June of 2009, I hoped that Panasonic would stand behind their product and simply replace it. Boy, was I wrong.

After wading through their website and finally finding a phone number, I called and attempted to reach a human being. What I got was recording after recording until I finally reached a human by selecting the option that I wanted to BUY something. (Evidently you can speak to someone easily if you want to buy a product, but if you need service...good luck trying to reach a representative.) The sales rep transferred me to the service department where I was informed that I must take my unit into one of Panasonic's approved service providers in Little Rock which is over an hour away. I always try to start these calls in a friendly manner--we know that the service reps aren't the ones making policy-but there was no apology for the inconvenience, or even an understanding attitude from this rep. By the time I got off the phone, I swore I'd never buy another Panasonic appliance.

I did take my unit into the service center for repair, where the unit was "repaired" at no cost under the warranty. However, after a second trip to Little Rock to pick up the unit, it ceased to operate AGAIN the first time I attempted to use it. Another maddening encounter with a Panasonic rep (whose supervisor refused to speak with me on the phone when I requested it) left me wondering if we'll see Panasonic going under any time soon. I was told that the responsibility for the microwave now lay with the service company because "they had opened it up". I would need to return the unit to the service company, have the unit checked again, get PROOF from the service company that the unit could not be repaired, and then I (yes I) would need to fax the proof along with my original receipt from Amazon to Panasonic. After that, I was told THEY WOULD PUT A FIELD AGENT ON IT. A fild agent? For a microwave?

Anyway, it appears Panasonic's idea of customer service is to run you around until you decide it's not worth pursuing a replacement from them for their product. Save yourself some trouble, don't buy from Panasonic.

Junk, only lasted a year.
Bought this to replace a very old (25 plus years) emerson that still worked but was underpowered. I was VERY pleased with this microwave and it's features at first. But it has stopped working completely after just a little over a year, and apparently this is a very common thing (check the target reviews for same microwave.) I am disgusted to find that nobody fixes these things so this large hunk of junk goes to the landfill after just a year and I get the pleasure of spending the money to buy yet another one. Since the warranties don't seem to mean squat and consumer support is nil, I guess I will cut my losses and save the environment by going to the online classifieds this time after a used one. :-(

Great value, great microwave.
I needed a medium size microwave for my finished basement/playroom. This fits the bill perfectly. Has plenty of power and room for cooking frozen foods/snacks etc. Works great and looks real sharp! (pun intended). Also, I used the free shipping from Amazon and it got here surprisingly fast. Overall I am totally happy with this unit.

Sharp R315JS
So far, I have it for about a month and no complain at this time.

Hope it will last longer than what I have before.

Looks and usage are nice and very easy.

Overal it is a good buy.

Disaster - i month before warranty expires!!
Bought this July of 2008 because it was not made in China. However, entire midsection of the control panel stopped working 2 months ago, as did the minute-plus button. Had to resort to creative math to set times. Very finicky panel. Contacted Sharp. They identified a service provider nearby. Its now been 2 weeks. The panel he replaced seems to work, but according to him, something else is not working and so he has to order another part. We requested Sharp to replace the microwave, but they would rather pay a technician more money to try and fix a very finicky appliance than replace it. Beware of buying this piece of junk.

Works, but with issues
Unit works, but the problem it doesn't rotate any more. If I take it apart and force the tray down it will rotate for about 30 seconds, then freeze again.

Not sure I would recommend this to anyone =(

Short-Lived
When it worked, it was great: easy to use, and easy to clean.

The problem is that the power started cutting out, less than six months after purchase. The problem appeared to be with the power cord itself. I kept my receipt, filled out the warranty card, etc, thinking that if I had a problem, GE would honor the one-year warranty, which is suppose to replace any part which is defective...no such luck.

First of all, you are expected to take it to a GE servicer, and pick it up later, or else you have to pay a fee to have it serviced in your home. Then I was given the run-around because they tried to say the cord was damaged after it was delivered to the store that sold it, but the store said it was GE's responsibility.

Basically, don't buy this microwave if you expect GE to honor the warranty. I ended up buying another brand from a different store to avoid this scenario again.

I recommend the Emerson .9 cu. ft. 900-Watt Microwave - .

Order was cancelled
But my review is for the promptness that the seller refunded my account! Big ups!

Very Good Over-all
A big Microwave - which was what I was lookinig for. Teh construction is good and the quality seems excellent so far. It is a bit louder than what I had thought it would be. However, the features are great - just be sure to adjust your cooking time as the power is higher than what you maybe used to.

WOW!!!!!
When they say "luxury full size" they mean luxury FULL size! This oven is HUGE and I LOVE it! Very user friendly, with all the options you can think of. This is my second Panasonic and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this brand. Just a word of warning, this piece is not for limited counter space. I have a separate microwave stand, which I'd recommend for a unit this large.

More value for your money
I bought this product to replace a "Built-in" unit and it fit very good. It is easy to use and has operated very good for 2 months now.It has plenty of room and lots of good features. We still have one of the original Panasonic talking microwaves that still operates great although it it extremely heavy and a limited interior size.Purchased 2 year factory extended warranty as an added protection since it is mounted in an enclosed space. With the reduced price I consider it a great value for the money.

Piece of work
Pros:

It cooks as advertised.

Cons:

1) Push buttons cannot be read when unit is placed on a white or lite colored counter top.

2) Unit has no rubber feet therefore it slides like it is on ice and will easily wind up on your floor when any button is pushed hard enough to activate it.

3) Cavity light goes off when door is opened to check food being cooked.

Nice Looking, works well.
This microwave performs really well for the money. It looks nice is compact and has enough room to cook all of our staples. I recommend.

Lasted only 18 months
I bought this product to replace a 35-year old Amana Radar range, after researching extensively online. It worked great until yesterday morning when it just died. No warning. No electronic messages. It just went totally blank. I called Panasonic customer service. They were nice enough...But directing me to a local service center was all they help they could offer. "Out of Warranty. Repair at your own expense." It was very telling that they also said "If you choose to replace rather than repair your product, we will give you 15% off your purchase and free shipping if ordered directly from Panasonic." ....Fat chance of that happening! I went out this morning and bought a new microwave...NOT a Panasonic.
